British Gas Business League Division One Midland
Saturday 21st October 2006 - 3:00 p.m. kick-off
Woodford United 2 (1)   Bromsgrove Rovers 2 (1)
By Phil Baker

A disappointing result for Rovers who lose their 100% away record.

Woodford dominated the first seven minutes but it was the visitors who took the lead on their first attack when Nathan Lamey latched on to a Chris McHale free-kick to drive low into the bottom left-hand corner of the home side's net.

On 30 minutes Carl Heeley brought down Ben Milner just outside the box and despite Bromsgrove protests, referee Mr Edwards pointed to the middle of the penalty area from where the offended player hit home a well-taken spot kick.

The home side dominated the remainder of the first half and deservedly took the lead just two minutes after the break when Neil King ran half the length of the pitch striking a hard shot from 20 yards out giving Rovers' 'keeper Chris Taylor little chance between sticks.

With thirteen minutes to go, Nathan Lamey hit a weak shot that 'keeper Matt Finlay appeared to have covered but it took a deflection off defender Aaron Parkes and went into his own net giving the visitors a fortunate draw.
