Dear Members
As you probably know the main news is the club going into administration sparked off by Mr Teece putting a Winding up order on the club for £5,000. This we now know was the tip of the iceberg, the debt going from £91,000 at the last AGM to approx £500,000 now!
The Society and a Consortium calling themselves Bromsgrove Sporting Limited headed by Rob Mclaren were planning to create a Community Club with the Society having three members on the board and a third of the shares. It is what the Society has been working for over the last eight years, but unfortunately our bid has failed at the present moment. Our combined bid was £60,000 of which £15,000 came from the Society which was helped by Loanote holders who agreed to release the money in the event of a bid. We must thank these members who have put money solely for the preservation of the Club.
The successful bid seems to be made by a Hagley man, Mr Mike Ward who at the moment is keeping in the background a mystery man. We do not know what the bid amount was but we will find out when it is put to the creditors. He has also got to be vetted by the FA. We will be speaking to the new owners if and when they take up power. We hope to keep you up to date by letter or via our website.

The season started well in the league for quite sometime and John Snape seems to have got a good spirit amongst the players but as you probably know we have now lost ten points for being in administration and this has put us in the relegation zone rather than the promotion zone.
The ground certainly looked good with the top stand being repaired with a new roof and stanchions thanks to the present sponsor, 4 to 1.
The Society Committee had two successful fund raising days, one at the Elizabethan Market and one at the Carnival, making approximately seven hundred pounds. Also for the first time we had a stand at The Blue Cross fete raising one hundred and twenty one pounds. From this we donated twenty pounds to The Blue Cross.
Also we hope to be running a Christmas walk on Sunday 27th December in the Dodford area to raise funds. Details to be confirmed.
The new web site is up and running but still needs a few alterations. We will be putting adverts on the web page for local businesses at a very reasonable rate. This is a good investment as people locally and all over the country log on to the web site for information.www.brss.org.uk
To celebrate 100 years at The Victoria Ground we are putting a book together. The book will be called Memories of The Victoria Ground. Charlie Rudge has put together some great memorabilia donated by ex players and supporters. If anyone has anything they would like to contribute please call Charlie on 01527 871985. The
Trust has been offered a grant of £3000 from the Heritage Fund if we are able to find a volunteer to do a presentation in local schools
and an exhibit in the local library. At present we have no one
suitable. Anyone who would like to volunteer please contact Charlie on the above number.
We hope for your continued support for the Trust by rejoining.
As an added bonus when you pay your subscription you will receive a 10% discount card to use at Jewsons. We are awaiting delivery from Jewsons. But you can still take your BRSS up to date card in and get the 10% now.
The next AGM has not been arranged yet as we are waiting for the accounts to be finalised. As soon as this is done we will notify you.
Thank you for your continued support.
The Committee
